Whatever has brought you here, you do not have to find your way through it alone.

At By Your Side Services, we understand that asking for help is not always easy. More often than not, it comes after weeks, months, or even years of trying to manage everything yourself. Our role is not to take over your life. Our role is to walk beside you.

Sometimes that means providing practical assistance ourselves. Sometimes it means coordinating a number of different services. Sometimes it means introducing you to trusted professionals within our community support ecosystem.

We are not a large organisation. We are two people with deep professional experience and genuine lived understanding of what it feels like to search for answers, advocate for loved ones and manage multiple responsibilities at once. Our size is our strength. We offer support that is personal, consistent and grounded in real connection.

Our Story

By Your Side Services was created because we have lived the challenges our clients face. We have spent years navigating systems on behalf of the people we love; attending appointments, coordinating services, completing paperwork, making phone calls, and trying to find the right help at the right time. We know how exhausting it can be to keep pushing forward while feeling unsure, overwhelmed or alone.

Through our professional work in aged care, disability, governance, compliance, community services and family support, we saw the same pattern repeated: people were expected to manage complex systems without clear guidance. Families were left to coordinate care, make difficult decisions and advocate for themselves while already under pressure.

We knew there had to be a better way, and that is how By Your Side Services began.

Our Service Area

By Your Side Services (BYSS) proudly supports clients across the Illawarra region, including the Wollongong and Shellharbour Local Government Areas. Located just south of Sydney, the Illawarra is a coastal community known for its strong local connections, beautiful natural surroundings and diverse population. Our team is local to the area and understands the needs of individuals and families living across these communities, allowing us to deliver reliable, responsive support that is tailored to each client’s environment and lifestyle.

Our Philosophy

Imagine a landscape after rain. Small creeks begin to flow from many different places. Some carry water from the mountains, others from valleys and open fields. Each has its own purpose, but as they come together they create something stronger—a river with direction, momentum and purpose.

Life often works the same way.

Doctors, allied health professionals, support workers, government services, family members, community organisations, financial advisers, legal representatives, trades, neighbours and friends may all become part of someone's journey.

Each plays an important role. The difficulty begins when there are gaps between services or being able to manage multiple situation fronts at once.

Too often, the responsibility for holding everything together falls to one person or one family.

By Your Side Services exists to help change that. We help create a connected support system centred around the individual.

Our role is to reduce the burden of managing complexity by bringing the right people together, improving communication, coordinating services and filling in the gaps which typical support services do not provide.

Our Begining

By Your Side Services was founded on friendship, shared values and a genuine passion for supporting others. Anneliese and Tracey have been friends for over nine years, having first met through Tracey’s volunteer work, and over that time we have supported each other through life’s ups and downs.

Through our friendship, we discovered many shared qualities; but most importantly, a deep respect for our community and a belief that everyone deserves to feel supported, heard, valued and never alone. We both find genuine joy in helping others, and it was this shared purpose that inspired us to create By Your Side Services.

Our approach is simple: we support our clients and families the same way we would want our own family to be cared for—with kindness, consistency, respect and genuine connection. By Your Side Services is not just about providing support, it’s about building relationships and being truly "by your side” every step of the way.
